Missionary Circle Week
There are so many events in Maycomb County but the most common in the missionary circle, it’s very wide spread, and it’s here to spread peace and talk about the issues of the town.
Ever wanted to host a good missionary circle like Aunt Alexandra or have you even hosted one? Well here is your chance for the perfect one, straight from the source Aunt Alexandra.
* Who to invite?
Mainly invite your closes friends and don’t forgot the ones who know all the good information around Maycomb County
* Where to Host?
You can host anywhere, as long as it’s proper, fancy, and secretive, we hosted it last time at my brother’s house, Atticus finch.
* How should we be dressed?
When coming to the missionary circle you can where anything as long as it’s lady like and pretty such as a floral dress, pearls, and anything to make you look like a real lady.
* What food should we serve?
You should serve finger food, don’t forget appetizers, and you can food that doesn’t require but it shouldn’t be too messy.

Dewberry Tarts
4 c. blackberries (or dewberries)
Sugar to taste (I use 2/3 c.)
Prepare washed berries with sugar, set aside. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
TART SHELLS:
3 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening
7-8 tbsp. water
Sift flour and salt. Cut in shortening. Add water 1 tablespoon at a time, tossing with a fork. Shape dough into 2 balls. Roll out and cut out circles big enough to fit in your muffin pan. This recipe should make 24 muffin size tarts. Fit the dough circles into muffin pan like small pies. Fill with berries. Bake for about 35 minutes or until pastry shell is lightly browned.
Coffee
1 cup brewed gourmet coffee at room temperature
1 cup chocolate ice cream
1 cup milk
1 cup crushed ice
2 cinnamon sticks
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Combine the gourmet coffee, ice cream, milk and crushed ice in a blender. Blend it until it is all combined and serves. Pour into two mugs and add cinnamon sticks. Makes 2 servings
Finger Sandwiches
Cream cheese, softened
Very thinly sliced cucumber, peeled
Salt and Pepper
Choose a selection of good-quality, thinly sliced white, whole wheat and seven-grain breads.
Peel the dark green skin from the outside of the cucumber with a vegetable peeler.
Spread a little cream cheese on one side of each slice of bread, then layer cucumber to desired thickness. Season to taste
Top with a plain slice.
With a sharp knife, cut the crusts off of the bread and discard. Cut the sandwich diagonally into triangles or finger shapes.
Serve garnished with a sprig of fresh watercress.
Crackling Bread
1 cup cracklings, diced
1 cup buttermilk
2 cups corn meal
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
Cracklings are the pieces of meat remaining after the lard have been rendered from the pork. Crisply fried bacon or salt pork bits may be substituted.
Mix and sift together the dry ingredients. Add the buttermilk, stir in the cracklings or bacon bits. Form into oblong cakes and place in a greased baking pan.
Bake in a preheated 400°F oven for 30 minutes.
* How should we serve?
You should serve with movement and have at least 2 or three servers and you should have napkins and food always moving around, and make the food attractive and use manners, and always keep a neat flow. When serving the tea pass it down to the end of the table and always look up when serving any food, if you look down you will drop the food, so be very careful.
* Etiquette
ALWAYS, have a smile and make small talk and never chew with your mouth full, or smack your food. When drinking, drink with you pinky up or if drinking from a wine glass sip lightly, NEVER slurp or burp. Avoid eye contact and be careful with your conversations, make sure they are not too personal.
